  • Welcome to the Personal Trainer Program

    The National Strength and Conditioning Association is dedicated to providing fitness coaches and personal trainers with the the resources and services to be successful. The Personal Trainer Program is intended to educate and train professionals working with a wide range of clients to improve their fitness levels.

    A coaching path has been created that leads to becoming a Certified Special Population Specialist (CSPS), intended for a personal trainer that is interested in improving the health and fitness needs of clients afflicted by health conditions. 

    The NSCA prioritizes fitness initiatives by serving as a partner in the National Activity Plan and holding the annual Personal Trainer Conference and Youth Training Symposium. NSCA-Certified Personal Trainers, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists, and other health and fitness practitioners will be empowered by the Personal Training Program.

    Personal Trainer Conference

    The NSCA's annual Personal Trainers Conference allows attendees to engage in hands-on sessions that take you from the lecture hall to your clients’ workout. Explore topics from motivation to metabolic training and special populations to suspension training presented by leaders in the personal training and research industries. Take your career further and network with top industry professionals.

    NSCA State and Regional Events allow participants to learn, participate and network with colleagues in their area while earning CEUs.     NSCA's Personal Training Quarterly (PTQ)

    Personal Training Quarterly is designed specifically for the personal trainer. You can discover easy-to-read, research-based articles that take your training knowledge further with Nutrition, Programming, and Personal Business Development columns in each quarterly, electronic issue.

    Personal Training Quarterly is digitally published four times a year. Look for articles and information on how you can expand your personal training career through integrating training methods and accessing tools for building your business.

    The National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Strength & Conditioning Course 

    The National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), in partnership with the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) developed Strength & Conditioning. It is designed for any individual who has responsibility for weight room supervision. The course presents the principles of conditioning and Includes in-depth explanations of best practices and over 80 videos demonstrating proper techniques. Coaches can complete a course immediately and will have up to one year to review and access all printable resources.
