ATTENTION Strength Coaches, Sport Coaches, Educators, and Trainers
If you are not a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or an NSCA-Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) and are looking for your first step toward becoming certified, attend one of these Fly Solo Camps and get connected to the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and the University coach in your area. If you are NSCA Certified then you are eligible to become a Fly Solo Camp Mentor; please see Mentor Training Course information below.
Learn the principles to help your athletes increase their performance on the field or court! The Fly Solo Program can help you improve your coaching skills on the major lifts, drills, and performance tests as well as gives you the tools to design and implement the most effective strength and conditioning program for your athletes.
Prior to attending the 8-hour, hands-on camp you will be asked to study the online Flight Manual to learn the NSCA’s Principles to improve performance.
This Fly Solo Camp is hosted and facilitated by Coaching Performance Director Boyd Epley, Coaching Performance Coordinator Jake Wurth, and in some cases the University Strength Staff. Register online and follow the five steps.
Mentor Training Course & Administrative Procedures – $198

Time – 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
Cost – $198
CSCS and NSCA-CPT current members in good standing with the National Strength and Conditioning Association are eligible to become Mentors of the Fly Solo Program. NSCA Fly Solo Mentors offer Fly Solo Camps for high school and middle school coaches in their area. By becoming an NSCA Fly Solo Mentor you are distinguishing yourself as a leader in athletic development and have the opportunity to generate some additional income. Coaches pay $99 to attend your camps with $79 of the camp fee going to the Mentor.
After completing the Mentor Training Course, Mentors earn a three year Mentor Certificate. Requirements: Hosting a minimum of two Fly Solo Camps per year and participation in NSCA Index Competitions. Mentor Candidates Register online and follow the four steps.
