Speed is one of the most sought after components of performance for most athletes. This session will provide an overview of basic terminology and various training techniques used to related to speed development.

Introduction: Agility (Lecture) Mark Roozen

The ability to start, stop and change directions rapidly and efficiently is critical to optimal performance and reduction of many types of injuries. Learn what components of health, fitness and performance influence agility. Basic concepts related to movement theory will also be discussed.

Measurement and Assessment of Power, Speed, and Agility (Hands On) David Sandler, Jay Dawes, and Mark Roozen

In this hands-on session attendees will be exposed to various field tests that can be easily used by the practitioner to assess Power, speed and agility, as well as have an opportunity to use and see some of the latest cutting-edge assessment tools for accessing predictors of athletic performance.

Neuromuscular Activation Techniques (Hands-on) Robb Rogers

You will learn how to integrate neural muscular activation techniques into movement preparation in order to enhance performance and prevent injury. Easy to implement exercises that will turn the core on for performance focusing on the glutes, a-d and a-b ductors, hip flexors and trunk musculature. NAT drills will also enhance proper sequencing of muscles during movement patterns which will decrease the possibility of injury

Plyometric Training Methods (Hands-on) Jay Dawes/David Sandler

Plyometric exercises are a very effective way to develop power with athletes. This session will focus on the utilization of plyometric exercises to develop power for clients and athletes of all fitness levels.

Speed Training and Methods (Hands On) Mark Roozen/Robb Rogers

In this session will have the opportunity to gain practical hands-ion experience by learning how to perform specific speed drills and how to properly teach them.
