SPEAKERS

Jay Dawes, MS, CSCS, NSCA-CPT, *D, is the Director of Education for the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Dawes has served the NSCA in various capacities, assisting as the Oklahoma State Director, a Conference Committee member, the Personal Trainers conference sub-committee chair, an Executive Council member for the Personal Trainers Special Interest Group (PTSIG), and as an editor for the Strength and Conditioning Journal’s One-on-One Column.

Carlos Santana, MEd, CSCS, *D, FNSCA, is the Director of the Institute of Human Performance in Boca Raton, Florida. He received his bachelor and master's degrees in Exercise Science from Florida Atlantic University. He is currently pursuing his doctoral work at the University of Miami's Department of Exercise and Sport Sciences. His training methodologies have been successfully applied to the full spectrum of the population-youth, geriatric, rehabilitation, and elite athletes. Santana has authored numerous articles, books, and videos on various topics covering training methodologies and human performance. His energetic approach to life and advanced knowledge of conditioning has made him a sought-after international speaker and consultant. Santana currently consults for various governmental agencies, educational institutions, college and professional sports teams, and sports equipment manufacturers.

Diane Vives, MS, CSCS, *D, is the Director of Vives Training Systems in Austin, TX which serves athletes and clients delivering elite strength and conditioning programs based on current research and innovative program design. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the NSCA and has been an active volunteer with the State Director program and the Personal Trainer SIG. Ms. Vives is dedicated to creating a legacy of fitness, health, and sports related success based on current and ethical methods of enhancing human performance. She is internationally recognized as a presenter and has authored educational products on speed, agility, and quickness as well as using an integrated strength training approach for performance enhancement and goal-oriented fitness.
