William J. Kraemer Outstanding Sport Scientist of the Year Award
This award is given to a scientist who has made noteworthy contributions to the field of applied exercise and sport science. The nominee should be an active member of the NSCA and a recognized contributor to the general field of exercise and sport science as well.
Eligibility Requirements
Primary
- First author of “original investigations” in applied exercise and sport science over a career.
- A demonstrated record of research presentations at national and international scientific meetings.
- A demonstrated record of presenting research (not service) at the NSCA national meeting.
Secondary
- Co-author of “original investigations” in applied exercise and sport science over a career.
- First author and co-author of reviews and symposiums in applied exercise and sport science.
- Book and textbook publications in applied exercise and sport science.
- Documented evidence of developing undergraduate and graduate students in the area of applied exercise and sport science.
- Documented evidence of promotion of applied exercise and sport science research through involvement in other professional and scientific associations other than the NSCA.
Bridging the Gap Contributions
- Involvement in the editorial activities of the JSCR and SCJ
- Manuscript contributions and publications in JSCR
- Contributions to the NSCA committee
- Contributions to the certification program of the NSCA
- Participation in NSCA national conferences and educational activities
- Contributions to NSCA published materials (e.g. Essentials text, position papers)
- NSCA leadership activities (e.g. holding elected office)
- Contributions to NSCA special projects
- Other NSCA contributions
Nominations will be accepted between August 1st and December 15th and the award will be presented at the National Conference the following year.
